Intersolar Europe 2016, the largest solar fair of the world, is over. The enthusiastic and continued interest in our products was repeatedly underlined at the trade fair and our SUNfarmer have led many informative discussions about our sustainable, future-oriented projects. The SUNfarming seized the opportunity, not only to present its business to a wide audience, but there were also many concrete business talks for current and future projects with customers and suppliers as well as banks, investors and politicians.
Thomas Silberhorn, State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, informed himself in an interview with Peter Schrum, founder of SUNfarming group, on the outstanding developmental chances of our newest product “SUNfarming Food & Energy Project”.
Hans-Josef Fell, former Member of the German Bundestag and together with Hermann Scheer “father” of the EEG, was a guest on our booth. Many years of political commitment in the conversion of conventional energy to renewable energy, connect Hans-Josef Fell and Peter Schrum in his capacity as Honorary President of the BRM (Federal Association for Renewable Mobility e.V.).
With the DKB we have a longstanding and successful cooperation. As a reference project DKB showed this year the SUNfarming solar park in Friedland/Germany, with a total capacity of 23.1 MWp and an investment of 35.1 million euros.
The board of DKB Tilo Hacke and the head of department “business customers” Matthias Etzold, spoke with Martin Tauschke, CEO and co-founder of SUNfarming, on the issues of project development and financing in Germany on ” physical structures ” in 2016 and project financing for clean and cheaper solar power supply for municipalities by SUNfarming solar systems.
“We are very satisfied with the exhibition days! Besides existing customers we were able to make many new contacts that are very useful for us on the path of internationalization of the project business. We will be back next year”, says Martin Tauschke.
Also this year the SUNfarming GmbH is represented at the world’s leading trade fair for the solar industry.

(PPProject Alensys AG, supported by the KfW/DEG on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development). For the first time the SUNfarming Food & Energy training concept was realized by our partner company ALENSYS with the support of KfW DEG.
Food & Energy Project provides jobs and education, food and energy and infrastructure where they are currently needed. European technologies and through PPP partnership with industry, long-term reliable management of systems, secure investments.
Delegations from all over Africa visited the SUNfarming Food & Energy Training Centre in South Africa.
On our delegation day on the 03rd of May 2016, enthusiastic professors, politicians and businessmen from all over Africa, f. e. Kenya, Botswana, Ghana and Zambia, have visited the SUNfarming Food & Energy Training Centre on the Campus of the North-West University Potchefstroom in South Africa.
The SUNfarming Food & Energy project shows the unique chance of cooperation about the land borders away. All delegates showed big interest in the possibility of a partnership of your university in this unique project.
Prof. Frik van Niekerk, Vice President of the North-West University, stressed the wish of his university to want to serve as a nucleus for the fair knowledge exchange between the involved universities. Master students of all African countries are educated in the Food & Energy train-the-trainer courses in Potchefstroom by Alensys and SUNfarming specialists. This knowledge the new Master Trainer can pass in their country. First Expressions of Interest have been successfully signed.
SUNfarming builds another 11 MW in Friedland, making it the largest producer of electricity in the region Friedland
11 megawatt solar park at three more locations in Friedland are since March 2016 connected to the grid.
As already several times in recent years, the trustful cooperation of SUNfarming with DKB also allowed the financing of these solar parks.Through our unique quality assurance system, we are a reliable partner for banks and investors.
“As production partners for our SUNfarming quality modules we chose Aleo Solar, producing in Prenzlau and Astronergy, producing in Frankfurt/Oder. Only economically strong PV module factories with automated production lines are added to the supply chain of SUNfarming.
Prior to delivery all modules are regularly tested at the factory by our SUNfarming quality managers, in collaboration with external testing institutes such as the PI Berlin, in a particularly strict quality control, “said Martin Tauschke, CEO of SUNfarming.
“We have successfully realized five solar parks with 22 MW, making SUNfarming the largest electricity producer in the region Friedland”.
With the PPP-Project “Food-and-Energy” we enhance our efforts not only to ensure for energy security, but also at the same time our solar-microclimate-greenhouse is ensuring a sustainable food supply with a water consumption that is kept to a minimum. Food and Energy Plants are a keydriver in combating unemployment in ressource poor areas, in crisis area and developing countries.
1 MW Food-and-Energy Plant, erected on 1,8 ha in Southern Africa or the Middle East, delivers in 1 year:
490 000 kg of local produced food, 1700 MWh renewable solar energy, 83000 tons of CO2 savings, 75-100 sustainable jobs and trainings facilities.
SUNfarming is building Food-and-Energy Training-Centres
Students, teachers and community members are trained in intergration of sustainable PV-technology and breeding, modern irrigation, harvest, packaging, marketing and sales in local markets. As a first project SUNfarming is supporting their partner company Alensys AG with the PPP-project “Food-and-Energy” in cooperation with the DEG (Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH) in South Africa
SUNfarming is in contact with countries like Namibia, Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, and Pastikan to develop projects with an average size of 10 MWp. With the experience of more than 400 MW realised PV-projects worldwide, thereof 70 MW owned by SUNfarming, together with german and international state bodies we certainly have an important contribution in the structural development in developing countries and crisis areas:
– energy security with renewable energy
– food production with water-saving drip-irrigation (hydroponics)
– sustainable trainings and jobs
EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT THE ENERGY TRANSITION. WE ARE MAKING IT.
As if on command, the sun was shining at the grand opening of our solar-training-center in Lima.
In cooperation with SENATI (Servicio Nacional de Adiestramiento en Trabajo industrial de Perú) and the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) SUNfarming inmplemented the new PPP Project on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Many interested guests from the world of politics and business attended the opening.
All SUNfarming PV-training plants were installed within the trainings by teachers of electrical engineering at SENATI under the leadership of SUNfarming experts. At the trainings the teachers will be trained in solar energy efficiency.
